Twenty-five-year-old
Vivek Sancheti, who recently started his own website development business in
Rajkot, claims he is a victim of the alleged blunders in assessment by
evaluators of the Gujarat Technological University (GTU).
Sancheti has
done computer engineering from city-based Atmiya Institute of Technology and
Science (AITS).
"The
blunders by evaluators at GTU has ruined my career," said Sancheti, who
got a shock of his life when came to know that he had failed in the subject
Object Orienting Programming-Java paper in 2012. Sancheti had then demanded a
copy of the evaluated answer sheet, claiming that he had attempted most of the
questions correctly. However, GTU had rejected his demand. He filed an
application under the Right to Information (RTI) Act, following which he got to
see the copy of the answer sheet.
"There
were so many errors made by the evaluators. I raised the issues with GTU
officials but they said they can only show the answer sheet and cannot change
marks given by evaluators. So, despite scoring over nine in Cumulative
Performance Index (CPI) in last four semesters, I had failed. When I filed a
second RTI plea seeking copy of my answer sheet, GTU gave a reply that they had
destroyed it. I wanted to study in California State University and I had all
edibility criteria but they denied admission because of the mistakes by
GTU," said Sancheti.
