Teachers’
Guild Jammu and Kashmir today sought early and suitable adjustment of
non-joined; deployed; attached and surplus masters of Jammu division, who are
awaiting adjustment orders of their suitable posting in their home districts.
In this connection an urgent meeting of the members of State executive council of
Teachers Guild Jammu and Kashmir was held under the chairmanship of State
president, Nasir Ahmed Qurashi, at its headquarter, Circular Road, Jammu.
Besides, Virender Kumar Sharma, Mohan Singh
Choudhary, vice presidents, TGJK, Advocate Mohd Farooq Faraz Qurashi, legal
advisor, TGJK, Narayan Baru, programme coordinator, Dr Mushtaq Ahmed Wani,
convener, literary cell, TGJK and heads of other cells of Teachers Guild were
also present in the meeting.
The issue pertaining to adjustment of non-
joined, attached, deployed and surplus Masters came into discussion and
threadbare conversation was held in the meeting. As per the information
presented in the meeting by the RTI and
Legal Cells of Teachers Guild around about 40 Masters are still attached in
Jammu district besides 65 non- joined Masters are still awaiting further
adjustment due to one reason or the other.
The members took a serious note of the
attitude adopted by the higher authorities in resolving the issue. It was noticed
that many Masters, who had served in odd districts of Jammu province have not
been given soft or suitable posting in Jammu district resulting in non- joining
while in other cases no consideration has been given for other grounds
vis-a-vis medical, security etc.
In his address, Qurashi expressed
dissatisfaction over the procedure adopted by authorities in the adjustment of
Masters and appealed to the Government to re-address the grievances of non-
joined, deployed, attached and surplus masters at an earliest.
He appealed to Nayeem Akhtar, Minister for
School Education and Priya Sethi, Minister of State for Education and Culture
to personally intervene in the matter.
