Himachal
Pradesh high court on Friday discharged chief information commissioner (CIC)
Bhim Sen and information commissioner K D Batish from contempt proceedings
after they tendered unconditional apology to the court. Earlier, they had been
directed to remain present before the court in a contempt petition filed by
Priyanka Gandhi Vadra.
After the
unconditional apology tendered by the contemnors, the court closed the contempt
proceedings against them. On the other hand, the respondent state had filled
reply to the writ petition filed by Priyanka Gandhi Vadra which was taken on
record by the court.
RTI applicant
Dev Ashish Bhattacharaya, who is one of the party respondents, had filed an
application to seek permission to bring some additional documents on record.
The court directed the respondents to file reply to the said application, if any,
within three weeks.
Division
bench comprising Justice Tarlok Singh Chauhan and Justice P S Rana passed these
orders on a writ petition filed by Priyanka Gandhi Vadra. The matter will be
now listed on January 7, 2016 for further hearing.
