Joint
Collector Vivek Yadav on Saturday directed all departments to display the names
of Public Information Officers and Assistant Public Information Officers
prominently in their respective offices for the effective implementation of the
Right to Information Act.
He asked them
to maintain a specific record of RTI applications and provide information to
people within the stipulated 30 days. Srikakulam District Revenue Officer
B.H.S. Venkataramana said several departments were not able to provide
information, leading to filing of appeals in the RTI commissioner's officer.
