The BJP
Manipur Pradesh RTI Cell has filed an application under the RTI seeking details
of all the projects taken up by Loktak Development Authority for conservation
and management of Loktak Lake.
The
application signed by the cell's convenor Mongjam Poireihanba Meetei and
submitted to the State Public Information Office/Project Director, LDA in the
first week of July sought the quantum of money sanctioned for conservation and
management of Loktak.
It also
sought details of firms/agencies/individuals, their addresses and manpower who
are entrusted the task of removing biomass from the lake.
The
application further sought details of fishing families which have been given
compensation under Special Plan Assistance, if there is any.
