Rs 49 Cr Spent for 5 Sessions in Belagavi

The state government spent Rs 49.21 crore, which is nearly Rs 1.23 crore a day, on the five Legislature sessions conducted in Belagavi.
Bhimappa Gadad, who obtained the information under the RTI Act, revealed that the first session conducted for five days at KLE Society’s JN Medical College when H D Kumaraswamy was the chief minister cost Rs 5 crore.
A sum of Rs 2.11 crore was spent for the development of roads, temporary conversion of halls, Rs 1.26 crore for furniture, Rs 47.54 lakh for food for ministers and officials, Rs 32 lakh for the police department, Rs 14 lakh for photocopies and stationery, Rs 11 lakh for power supply, Rs 11 lakh for hired vehicles and fuel, Rs 11 lakh for lodging, Rs 4.75 lakh for entertainment and Rs 77,000 for snacks.
He said Rs 12.34 crore was spent for the eight-day second session in 2009, Rs 7.39 crore for the seven-day session in 2012, Rs 14.40 crore for the ten-day fourth session in 2013 and Rs 10 crore for the ten-day session in 2014.
