RTI: CM's Office Denies Charge

Indian Express: Thiruvananthapuram: Tuesday, 28 April 2015.
Chief Minister Oommen Chandy’s office has denied the report that it had  been denying information sought under the Right To Information Act.
In a release, the CM’s office (CMO) claimed that it had been providing all information whenever it is sought under the Right To Information Act.
Terming the media reports that the CMO is denying the information when sought under the RTI Act, the office said that it had been providing information on the CM’s  Mass Contact Programme.
“The follow-up action on the complaints received by the Chief Minister is initiated  through the District Collector’s office.
So that, the actual statistics of the petitions which have been settled and remain to be solved will be available with the Chief Minister’s office at the Collectorates,’’ it said.
The CMO also said that the same was intimated to the complainants.
However, there have been media reports that the CM’s office has been denying information on the MCP, terming it as a mere public function.
