Three judges
appointed in Gujarat Education Institutions Services Tribunal by the state
government to judge on service conditions like promotion and remuneration
issues have not been paid salary and allowances for nearly a year.

information was provided by the Tribunal's office last month in response to an
application under the RTI Act filed by advocate Vinod Pandya. Retired judge of
city civil court D V Zala was appointed as president of the tribunal, whereas

The
tribunal's reply stated that the salary and allowances have not been paid to
these judges because terms and conditions of their employment have not been
decided. Even the maintenance and stationary expenditure would be finalized
once the terms are finalized. Till date, the office has incurred Rs 27,315
towards petrol expenditure of the tribunal's staff car.
