LU awards unconditional marksheet to student

Times of India: Lucknow: Wednesday, 04 March 2015.
Hemant Kumar, a BCom student of Lucknow University who graduated in 2002 can finally call his marksheet genuine. Until Tuesday, his marksheet was under the ambit of vigilance. The state information commission on Tuesday instructed LU to do away with the rider, "subject to the decision of competent authority and vigilance" written on Hemant's marksheet.
Between 1999 and 2002, a large number of fake admissions were reported in LU. The vigilance inquiry found around 200 such students whose results were withheld. Hemant Kumar was among them. Later, the university released marksheets with a rider that it was subject to the decision of competent authority and vigilance. A vigilance inquiry later gave a clean chit to Hemant. Even after this, university did not award a clear marksheet to him. In 2006, Hemant filed an RTI query using which he got justice on Tuesday.
