An RTI query
by a 37-year-old man, Pinto Patil, reportedly uncovered that his uncle had
illegally transferred a plot in Turbhe by forging lease documents.
Patil's
uncle, along with an architect and some Cidco officials, allegedly forged
documents, which said that Patil's father Yashwant had inked a lease deed,
which gave up ownership rights to his brother Dattu.
"He gave
Cidco documents with the agreement. He had held on to the plot for years. I
submitted an RTI query to look at the documents and saw that this lease was
signed in 1990. Two years after my father's death," said Patil.
He said that
his uncle had even told the sessions court in 1996 that his brother, Yashwant,
reportedly did not have an heir and the land could be transferred. "His
testimony in court was also in the RTI query. All of it is false," Patil
said.
He then
approached the police with this information. "We have all the data and
have registered a case against the duo," said Balkrishna Sawant,
inspector.
Patil's
family were allotted three tracts of land measuring 100m each in 1990 by Cidco
in the 12.5% PAP scheme. Patil claims that his uncle "usurped" both
his father and grandfather's land after their death by forging their signature
on lease documents.
"He then
teamed with a developer and was planning to build a tower on our land,"
said Pinto.
Cidco
officials said that they knew about the case and were probing the matter.
"I have heard the complaint. I have requested Patil and his mother to
visit me and we will find a way to solve the problem," said Pradnya
Sarvade, Cidco's chief vigilance officer.
