The Cabinet
has approved amendments to the Information Technology (Electronic Delivery of
Services) Rules as part of a decision to bring delivery of more services under
the e-district project.
Accordingly,
issue of minority certificate by the Revenue Department and filing of Right to
Information (RTI) applications and filing of complaints and grievances to all
departments will be brought under the project.
The
application fee for e-services will be Rs.17, including Rs.10 payable to the
service provider. There is no need to affix court fee stamp on the application.
For RTI applications, the fee will be Rs.22, including Rs.10 payable under the
RTI Act.
All services
covered under the Right to Services Act will be delivered as e-service (through
Akshaya Kendras). Besides, more services will be identified and included for
electronic delivery.
The Cabinet
also decided to entrust the IT Mission with the launching of e-district public
portal for routing e-services.
