Keshav
Mishra, a B-tech mechanical graduate from Patna, now working as assistant
manager with Sabka Bank of India, is feeling cheated after working for two long
years.
He is still
not sure if his job is really sarkaari, and for that he has now filed a query
under the RTI act.
The
professional experience that Keshav has encountered till date is nowhere the
same as he expected while mugging RS Agrawal’s Book for Quantitative Reasoning
and General Awareness about countries of which he hasn’t heard even names of,
about three years ago while preparing for Bank PO exams.
“My neighbor Sharma Uncle, who is a Bihar
government employee was my role model. All I wanted was a government job just
like Sharma Uncle’s where I have to spend 80% of my time outside office having
tea and snacks while discussing politics, and rest of the 20% of time settling
bribes and salary,” said Keshav recalling his fantasies about a sarkaari job.
Keshav
revealed that his dream world shattered within a day after joining bank’s
Achrajgaon village branch, which was 120 km from Lapataganj town on
Bhopal–Indore highway.
Quoting a
dialogue from a movie named ‘One Two Three’, Keshav said, “I was feeling like
dukaandar ne Calvin Klein keh kar Paharganj ka maal bech diya ho mujhe.”
“Dude, after
working from 9 am to 9 pm, I have to lock down the main gate of the bank, as if
it is my personal shop! At least I wouldn’t have to do this if I hadn’t left my
software job with TCS,” rued Keshav.
However, he
thinks his multi-tasking ability has definitely improved.
“Besides
being an assistant manager, I am crowd manager and an occasional security
guard. But it’s not that cool. I never wanted to improve my multi-tasking
ability. In fact, that was the reason I wanted to have a sarkaari job!” Keshav
further added.
Keshav is
still not ready to believe that his job is a sarkaari job even though he works
for a nationalized banks and has all the facilities available to a government
servant.
Sources tell
Faking News that initially Keshav did try to “enjoy” his sarkaari job.
“He talked in
a rude manner to a customer from the neighboring village and asked for bribe to
pass his tractor loan,” the source revealed, “Next moment, the customer’s
revolver was on Keshav’s head.”
Since then,
Keshav has been ruing the decision to go for a sarkaari job, the source
confirmed.
