Two days
after the assault on woman IAS officer Rashmi V Mahesh, a KAS officer posted at
Mysore Urban Development Authority was allegedly manhandled and threatened by
two persons, including an RTI activist.
Police have
filed a case against RTI activist Guru and his unidentified accomplice for
their involvement in the incident that took place on October 17.
Indresh, a
Group D employee in Muda, has filed a police complaint regarding the incident.
He claimed that the duo locked special land acquisition officer Chidananda in
his office. The duo also allegedly pushed Chidananda out of the office.
Confirming
the incident, Muda commissioner S Palaiah said Guru had sought information
under the RTI Act and demanded that the KAS officer furnish details instantly.
The officer said the information will be provided within a specific time, but
the two were adamant.
Lakshmipuram
police said Guru absconded after the complaint was filed. The identity of the
other accused is yet to be known.
