It's a
calculated move by the former government to protect its corrupt ministers, says
a public interest litigation filed in Bombay high court challenging
Anti-Corruption Bureau's exclusion from the Right to Information (RTI) Act's purview.
It has
specifically mentioned the names of NCP leaders Ajit Pawar, Sunil Tatkare,
Chhagan Bhujbal and Vijaykmar Gavit against whom charges are levelled and also
Congress leader Kripa Shankar Singh "who is already facing allegations of
disproportionate assets and his case is pending" with ACB. The activist
who filed the PIL urges quashing the notification saying it is contrary to RTI
Act's object.
Meanwhile,
following a complaint from activists on the notification, Ratnakar Gaikwad,
state Chief Information Commissioner, said he would hear the matter on November
14 and give his decision the same day.
