Social worker
engineer Harsh Shukla informed that private security guard Ramakant Dubey, a
resident of Ganeshpura filed an application at Collector office for arm license
in 2010.
A complaint
was filed by social organisation ‘Urja’ before divisional commissioner as no
action was taken in the matter. Divisional commissioner issued directives to
take action. After no action was taken in the matter, complainant Shukla took
help of RTI Act and sought information about the action taken in the matter. It
was revealed in the information received from Collector’s office that the then
Public Information Officer did not make efforts and did not provide any
information. The then Collector in his order said that application should be
redressed quickly after getting a report in issue in question. An appeal was
done to State Information Commission. An order was issued on August 25, 2014
and PIO was directed to provide required information to appellant within 15
days. Appeal officer was directed to take action against SDM.
