of India: Noida: Saturday, 06 September 2014.
Nearly a
month after a 100 RTI applications were submitted by flat buyers at Greater
Noida Industrial Development Authority, the flat buyers are dismayed by what
they claim are "incomplete responses".
"We
filed the RTI applications on August 8 for old and new layouts of various
Greater Noida West (Noida extension) housing projects. We have received only 30
responses till date. None of them is satisfactory," Shweta Bharti, general
secretary of Noida Extension Flat Owners' Association, said.
According to
Bharti, the authority has denied provision of the true disclosure form, deed of
declaration and form A by builders, while under the UP Apartment Act, builders
have to submit all the above documents to the authority for approval of their
projects. Form A comprises all details of the project.
"There
are several gaps in the information GNIDA has provided us, in response to our
applications. We may now go for a first appeal for a copy of all sanctioned
layout plans," Bharti added.
The buyers'
group has also expressed concern at a response by GNIDA, where it has mentioned
that they have no committee to supervise the quality of material and techniques
used in the construction of the builders' projects.
"We have
consistently written to the authority, requesting them to form an experts'
committee to supervise the quality of work and materials used in local
projects, but no action has been taken to protect the flat buyers'
interest," she said.
The buyers
group said all responses "looked similar, with only slight changes in the
content". Bharti said, "It seems GNIDA executed a formality through
these responses, but for every reply we are not satisfied with, we will submit
a fresh appeal with GNIDA."
