Training on
Right to Information Act 2005(RIT) for public information officers (PIOs),
assistant public information officers (APIOs) and responsible officers from
different departments was held August 11-13 at the administrative training
institute (ATI), Kohima.
Resource
persons included ATI joint director L.Youdang Jamir, Nagaland Information
Commission undersecretary Er.Worhonthung Ezung and ATI state coordinator Dr.
Hovithal Sothu.
In this
three-day programme, the participants were enlightened with different topics on
Right to Information (RTI) Act.
The topics
included concept, proactive disclosure responsibilities of appellate authority,
information commissions of both Centre and State, fees and time periods,
penalties, records management for effective implementation of RTI Act and
various case studies of the country as well as the state.
Experience
sharing and solving Right to Information (RTI) Act problems of some departments together by the
participants and the Resource persons were part of the training. The course was
coordinated by DMC, ATI, state coordinator Dr.Hovithal Sothu. Altogether, 24
officers from various departments attended the training.
