In a big
relief to Vinayaka Vidya Samsthe, a school situated in Hoskote in Bangalore
Rural taluk, the Karnataka high court has stayed the memo issued by the local
Block Education Officer(BEO).

Bopanna passed an interim order after the secretary of the school approached
the high court challenging the July 21,2014 memo issued against the head
mistress of the school.
The school
claimed that though it is a an aided educational institution, it is not covered
by the definition of public authority as defined under the Right to Information
Act,2005.
The school
further stated that though detailed reply was submitted the BEO is threatening
to cancel the grant -in-aid and action under RTI act as well Kannada
Development Auuthority Act,1994 for not issuing reply in Kannada.
According to
the school, the Kannanda version of the reply was also sent along with the
English version.
