An RTI
activist in Dadri, Kapil Sharma, had a narrow escape on Friday night after some
criminals opened fire at his car. The activist was unhurt.
"I was
on GT Road in Greater Noida. I stopped the car at a food stall to eat something
when suddenly some criminals reached there and started shooting," Sharma
told the police. He said he behind the food stall to save his life. After the
firing, the bike-borne criminals fled the spot.
A complaint
has been registered at the Dadri police station against the criminals. Ravikant
Parasar, SHO, Dadri said, "We have recorded the statement of the victim
and also talked to the local residents," he said.
The victim
alleged that some local people, who were not comfortable with his activism,
might have hired goons to kill him.
