No action against corrupt officials

Corrupt officials of the Agriculture Department of Ujjain division in collusion with Seed Certification officials have committed embezzlement worth crores of rupees, but no action is taken against them even after complaints were registered against them by Kalyani Kisan Utthan Samiti.

Kalyani Kisan Utthan Samiti president Chandravijay Singh Chauhan said this while addressing a press conference at the Press Club here on Wednesday.

Chauhan said that deputy director of Agriculture Department AK Neema in collusion with Seed Certification officers deceived innocent farmers to pocket crores of rupees. Complaints have been filed against them and the crime and corruption have been certified during investigation. But the corrupt officials are still safe and no disciplinary action was taken against them.

Chauhan further added that Seed Certification officers and Deputy Director Agriculture prepared fake documents of farmers for showing seed programme on papers to give benefit to Ujjaini Seed Producers in 2008-09. The scam was worth Rs 3 crore as fake documents were prepared in the name of farmers to get grant of lakhs of rupees. An FIR was lodged against the accused officials by complainant using RTI Act 2005. No action has been taken against influential officials since five years have been passed.

DD Neema misused his office to commit corrupt affairs in 2011. He earned commission worth lakhs of rupees practicing embezzlement in sales and purchase of more than allotted financial budget. Agriculture department took no action against Seed Producer firms as their samples were found substandard.
