The New Indian Express: Puducherry: Friday, 18 July
2014.
Sacked LG of
Pondy Virendra Kataria said that he
would file an RTI to know the reason for his removal from the post before
leaving the UT and if found that it was for wrong reasons, he would fight it
out in the court.
Interacting
with newsmen after inviting them for a cup of tea, he said that the Centre had
no hand in his removal. “It was not in
their scheme of things to remove me. My case was not in their agenda for at
least six months,” Kataria said.
The pressure
exerted by the UT unit of BJP, the bureaucratic links used, by the chief
secretary, in New Delhi and ‘so many other things which I do not want to say’
have played a role in influencing the Centre’s decision to shift me out, he
said.
However, he
refused to be cowed down. Stating that he was a fighter, Kataraia said he would
find out the reason for his removal through RTI and if any false allegations
have been made against him, he would consult eminent legal luminaries in
Supreme Court and then decide on it.
Though, the
local BJP has been very appreciative of his functioning, they changed their
stand overnight and joined hands with the ruling party, said Kataria.
Kataria
claimed that there were hundreds of petitions from BJP with complaints against
the AINRC government from Mahe and
Yanam.
‘CM is a Good
Man’
After
faulting the CM on Tuesday, Kataria however termed Chief Minister N Rangasamy
as a good man, but said the CM was surrounded by ‘crooks’, who were giving him wrong advice and have their way.
Kataria
claimed that he was a ‘friend’ of the CM and had given him the right opinion
for good governance.
