RTI query reveals 2 cheated in MPhil exam in KU

Times of India: Chandigarh: Friday, March 21, 2014.
Information sourced under RTI Act has revealed that two candidates had copied each other in the entrance test for M Phil course conducted by Kurukshetra University (KU) in October 2013. Ashok Kumar, a resident of Jind, had filed an application under RTI Act before KU authorities alleging that copying was allowed in the M Phil exam and sought information about the marks of two examinees.
"I learned that two candidates had attempted same questions and scored identical marks. Both had attempted same number of questions rightly and had wrongly answered identical questions. Both of them got the same marks," said Ashok.
Ashok filed a complaint before KU authorities after getting information under RTI Act, following which the exam was cancelled and conducted again in December 2013. He, however, alleged that the university did not mark any probe into the matter and no action was taken against those caught copying.
He has now filed a petition in the Punjab and Haryana high court seeking directions for a thorough probe by KU into the matter and action against the guilty.
