FIR filed against Turbhe corporator's father

Times of India: Mumbai: Sunday, March 09, 2014.
An FIR has been lodged against the father of NCP corporator from Turbhe for reportedly giving false information about operating a quarry.
Turbhe MIDC police have registered a complaint against Amrut Medkar (46) after his step brother, Rajesh Medkar, accused him of taking possession of a stone quarry, which their late father used to operate.
The accused, who is the father of Turbhe corporator Amit Medkar, had been charged for cheating and giving false evidence. "Further inquiry is on to study the affidavits he submitted to Cidco, in order to gain control of the quarry," said an officer from Turbhe MIDC police station.
The complainant stated that after their father passed away in 2001, Amrut fraudulently took control of the stone quarry in Bonsari village by stating in his affidavit that he is the sole heir. Rajesh recently discovered the fraud through RTI.
He filed a case at the Belapur-based Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) court and provided the relevant documents. The court then ordered the police to register the FIR and investigate the matter. Rajesh said that by taking sole charge of the quarry, the accused has cheated him and other siblings of the profits earned through the quarry work.
When contacted Amit Medkar, he said, "What can I say? This case concerns my father, not me."
