Law students
should create awareness on law among common man, said Justice N Kumar of High
Court Circuit Bench, Dharwad.
He was
speaking at a lecture programme on 'Power of judicial review' organized by
Karnataka State Law University, Hubli, here on Tuesday. He said it is the duty
of law students to educate people about law and enable them to make use of it
to solve their problems.
"Judicial
review is the basic structure of the Constitution and a fundamental right. Over
the years, the concept has gained more importance in protecting the rights of
common man," he added.
Right to
Information (RTI) is a wonderful tool to bring in transparency in the
government if utilized properly, he said.
