At one time,
the advice was, don’t forget to say namashkar to every pillar in the Delhi
Development Authority office. One wouldn’t know which pillar could wield the
right influence to get things done. That’s history. Today, RTI has replaced the
pillars. There are touts everywhere with the RTI forms, costing Rs 5. If your
work is not done, file an RTI. You will get a reply immediately, the touts say.
That’s the growing influence of RTI, said Vijayalakshmy K. Gupta, Member,
Telecom Regulatory Authority of India, at a function organised by the Madras
Management Association in Chennai.
