A right to
information (RTI) activists has filed a police complaint against the wife of
revenue minister Raman Bhalla, alleging that she has threatened him against
pursuing the case of multi-crore land transfer to hoteliers in Gulmarg.
RTI activist SK Bhalla has been fighting the
case of alleged illegal transfer of land earmarked for the development of
tourist infrastructure under the masterplan of Gulmarg Development Authority
(GDA) by Revenue and tourism department since 2009 Prof SK Bhalla had filed an
application in the high court seeking directions of the court to the vigilance
commissioner to produce a demi-official letter written by revenue minister
Raman Bhalla asking to close the case against him in Gulmarg land deal.
The letter
was produced in the court by the vigilance organisation. The court had said
since it was produced in the open court it saw no reason to consider it as
privilege document and according directed Vigilance Organistion to provide copy
of it to the applicant.
