Bapa compares 'liar' Modi with Goebbels

The Times of India: Surat: Friday, November 09, 2012.
Founder president of Gujarat Parivartan Party (GPP) Keshubhai Patel compared chief minister Narendra Modi with Hitler's propaganda minister Joseph Goebbels, during his visit to the city. Keshubhai said Modi is a liar and that the government hasn't appointed a lokayukta for nine years to cover his lies.
The state government has reduced the days of the legislative assembly session from an average of 60 to 30. "The annual average number of days in an assembly session has fallen to 30 in the Modi government rule. MLAs are not allowed to raise controversial questions in the assembly and if do, they are forced to withdraw it. The lokayukta appointment has been challenged in the high court and now in the Supreme Court to delay its functioning," said Keshubhai, while talking to media.
He further claimed that the BJP staged demonstrations against the central government for inflation but no relief was given for VAT in Gujarat. Keshubhai also claimed that RTI applications in the state are not answered. He claimed that a large number of RTI applications are pending.
"Both centre and state government are not doing anything for common people. I did not raise taxes during my government in the state. The state's tax income was Rs 7,000 crore during my chief ministership and today it is Rs 51,000 crore. Despite the low income, I did not hike taxes," said Keshubhai. Continuing his attack, Keshubhai claimed that, "Dawood used to collect Rs 100 ransom but the state's ruling party collected Rs 500 crore ransom from the people on the pretext of donation."
Keshubhai promised housing schemes for diamond and textile workers in the city, if GPP comes in power in the state. Keshubhai also refused to welcome BJP leaders who join GPP for a ticket. In reply to a question Keshubhai said, "RSS is a social organization and I am currently a member. VHP has publically felicitated me in an event and a large group is in my support."
Talking about Naresh Patel, president of Khodaldham Trust, Keshubhai said, "Nareshbhai may be personally working for a political party, but he clarified and refused to use the Khodaldham Trust dais for any party.".
