In a major
development two senior officials of the Jindal Steel and Power Limited senior
security officer Brigadier (retd) KK Chopra and deputy manager of SFSS, SN
Panigrahi on Friday surrendered before a local court in connection with firing
on social worker Ramesh Agrawal.
Later, they were
sent to police remand and two more accused are still on the run.
Police
produced four accused in the court besides submitting a challan while two
persons also surrendered in this connection.
The four
accused Sangram Singh, Sanjay, Naresh Patro and Tarkeshwar Rai were arrested
earlier in this case. As the time of 90 days, mandatory for submitting challan,
was ending on Friday therefore police produced the accused in court and also
filed challan against them.
According to
Raigarh Additional Superintendent of Police Prafulla Thakur, senior security
officer of Jindal Steel and Power Ltd KK Chopra and deputy manager SN Panigrahi
also surrendered in the court.
