Chief
minister Narendra Modi may have kicked up a storm by flashing an RTI query on
Sonia Gandhi's travel bills. Here's a look at the RTI queries which have
remained unanswered in Gujarat.
Information
hits air-bump:
The
government has been silent on RTI applications seeking details of Modi's
foreign tours who paid for the CM's private jets and how much industrialists
accompanying Modi paid for the trips.
SIT-ting
quiet:
Applications
seeking details on how much the government spent on foreign travel of R K
Raghavan, head of SIT which gave the Modi government a clean chit in riot
cases, are pending for three years.
Gizmos
under gaze:
A known gadget
freak, the CM's house is full of gizmos. But the CM's office has evaded
questions on what gadgets have been bought for the CM's residence and which
department paid for these.
Vibrant
secrets:
Applications
seeking details about Vibrant Gujarat summit and the followup investments have
run into a wall. The last summit in 2011 had claimed that MoUs worth $450
billion had been signed but not much money poured in.
Canal
canards:
Modi
government appointed a committee to probe the corruption in the Sujalam Sufalam
irrigation scam. But, its report has been kept under wraps for three years now.
Excavating
truth:
The Gujarat
HC transferred the probe into murder of RTI activist Amit Jethawa to the CBI.
Jethawa had raised the issue of illegal mining. Queries pertaining to illegal
mining have remained unanswered.
Brakes on
info:
The
government has not revealed details about the incentives given to car companies
Tata, Maruti, Ford and Peugeot on the pretext that these are business secrets.
