Students have filed as many as 1,400 applications under the Right to Information (RTI) Act, 2005 to get photocopies of answer sheets of the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) results.
The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education has decided to provide photocopies of the answer sheets to the students.
Suresh Kulkarni, who has additional charge as divisional secretary, said, “We have received 1,400 applications after the Std XII results were declared on May 25.”
Students have filed applications to get photocopies of maximum six papers and minimum two, he said. The rush increased after the students received their mark sheets on June 2.
In last August, the Supreme Court had ruled that students can obtain copies of their answer sheets under the RTI Act. In 2009, then state information commissioner, Vijay Kuvalekar had ruled that students should be given copies of their answer sheets for the secondary school certificate (SSC) and higher secondary certificate (HSC) examinations.
