Rajasthan Board to provide photocopies of answer sheets from this session.

The Times of India: Jaipur: Tuesday, April 10, 2012.
The Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education (RBSE) will provide photocopies of answer sheets to students under the right to information (RTI) act from this very session. The board also hinted at an increase in the examination fee. Charges for duplicate copies of different documents including marksheets are also likely to go up.
Chairman of the board Subhash Garg on Monday said Class X and XII examinations went off peacefully and 485 cases of cheating were caught in the state. Adding that no major incident of mass copying was reported this year, he expressed his gratitude to the employees of the board and the education department.
Garg said that board has decided to implement the RTI act as per the orders of Supreme Court, "Now students can get copies of answer sheets so that they can see the evaluation of their answers," said Garg.
He said that the board got Rs 65 crore this year but the exam expenditure went up to Rs 100 crore. "To cover up the difference we are thinking of raising the fee of examination but it has not yet been decided," added Garg.
He also said that evaluation of answer sheets has been started and teachers have been instructed follow the rules of evaluation. "We are trying to announce the result of Class XII a week ahead of the expected date," said Garg.
