RTI activist goes missing.

Deccan Herald: New Delhi:Saturday, March 03, 2012.
An Right to Information (RTI) activist, who had worked to expose corrupt officials in government departments, has gone missing from Ghazipur area of east Delhi, police said on Friday.
Ravikumar Tiwari, 38, of Shakurbasti, who also has a flower business, has been missing since he went along with his servant to buy flowers from Ghazipur Mandi on Thursday.
“It is believed that he has been kidnapped, as he did not return home yet. He has also not contacted any member of his family,” police said.
Pratibha, Ravikumar’s wife, said her husband had filed some RTIs in 2009 after which some New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) and Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) official were suspended.
“I think some government officials have kidnapped my husband to take revenge over the RTIs filed by him. He had received some threat calls in the past,” Pratibha said.
A case of kidnapping has been registered against unknown persons at Ghazipur police station over a statement by Ravikumar’s family members.
Investigation is on to trace Ravikumar, police said.
