KS Sripathi after being sworn in as CIC. Tamil Nadu's chief information commissioner (CIC) K.S. Sripathi has come under the scanner for availing a Tamil Nadu Housing Board (TNHB) flat.
A reply under the Right to Information (RTI) Act has showed that Sripathi obtained the flat from the housing board after his retirement as the chief secretary. The flat was allotted under a scheme meant for government servants.
The revelation has come as a major embarrassment for the state information commission. A complaint has been sent to the governor demanding Sripathy's removal.
When Headlines Today contacted Sripathy over the phone, he said he had applied for the flat during his tenure as the chief secretary.
