HC to Haryana: Fill up vacant RTI posts.

Chandigarh: The Punjab and Haryana High Court today issued notices to Haryana on a public interest litigation (PIL) seeking directions to fill up all seven vacancies of State Information Commissioners in Haryana. The petitioner Aseem Takyar contended that there are a total of ten such posts in Haryana. However, at present there is only one Chief Information Commissioner and two information commissioners dealing with the load of pending cases before them. The petitioner averred that there are a total of 2,500 cases pending before the state information commission.
