RANCHI: Standing conference of public enterprises (SCOPE) is pressing for level playing field for the public and private sector enterprises besides demanding more autonomy to the public sector enterprises (PSEs).
SCOPE director general C D Choubey is here on a three-day visit to attend symposium on Right to information act for central public sector enterprises and programme on Occupational safety and health in CPSEs was addressing media on Thursday.
He said that 249 CPSEs in the country with an investment of Rs 5.8 Lakh crore collectively contribute one-third of government revenue. "Despite the immense importance of CPSEs in country's economy they have been fighting against odds and crippled due to several norms, checks and balances most of which are of no use in the global competitive world," he said.
Choubey said SCOPE had been lobbying for the PSEs in different government agencies besides organizing workshops and seminars to create awareness among the PSEs. "The programme would seek suggestions from representatives of PSEs about their experiences on RTI Act.
