MARGAO: The Goa State Information Commission (GSIC) has issued a showcause notice to SP Allen de Sa asking him why penal action should not be taken against him for delay in furnishing information when he was the public information officer (PIO) in charge of South Goa. Incidentally, the plea against the SP is filed by Suraj Harlankar, a police inspector.
The GSIC has directed de Sa to remain present for a hearing fixed on October 14 at the commission's office in Panaji. De Sa has been instructed to file his say, failing which, the matter will be decided in his absence. The appellant, Harlankar, had sought information under the RTI Act in his individual capacity.
