Steps to be taken to implement RTI Act, says Zamir.

Chief Information Commissioner Mohammad Zamir Tuesday said the government would take all necessary steps to implement Right to Information Act (RTA) in the country, reports BSS.

"We are witnessing some changes in the mentality of hiding information after enactment of RTA," he said addressing a discussion at the Jatiya Press Club in the city.

Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists (BFUJ) organised the discussion marking the World Press Freedom Day which was observed across the globe.

With BFUJ President Iqbal Sobhan Chowdhury in the chair, the discussion was addressed, among others, by vice chancellor of International University of Bangladesh Prof Dr Nurul Momen, editor of daily News Today Reazuddin Ahmed, former President of Jatiya Press Club Hassan Shahriar and editor of Daily Amader Samoy Naimul Islam Khan.
