PIO in edu dept fined by RTI.

The RTI Commission fined the Public Information Officer (PIO) of the Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Board (GSHSB) for not responding to the complaint filed by a senior citizen before the commission.

It ordered that Rs25,000 be deducted from the salary of the PIO, who chose to remain absent at the hearing and failed to furnish information to the complainant. He also has to pay a compensation of Rs3,000 to the complainant.
