Srinagar, Apr 20: The J&K RTI Movement is mulling to seek details under RTI Act about the funds utilized for repairing of Srinagar-Chrar-e-Sharief Road.
In a statement, its convenor, Dr Raja Muzaffar Bhat said, the road was still in dilapidated condition despite repairs and macadamization by Economic Reconstruction Agency last year, which could not be completed due to summer unrest.
“The work done by ERA is not up to the mark as the macadamized parts of the repaired road stretch have developed pot holes. We demand probe into the quality of material used on Kralpora-Wanbal Road,” Bhat said.
He said Chrar-e-Sharief Road connects many important areas of Srinagar and Budgam district. “The Kralpora-Mochwa road stretch is in shambles causing immense trouble for the daily commuters,” he said adding the Government had turned blind eye towards the burning issue.
“Few days back a water pipeline ruptured at Kralpora further damaged the road,” a local said.
