CUTTACK: The Orissa High Court admitted a PIL on the alleged casual approach by the state government and the Centre in implementing the Right to Information (RTI) Act in the state and issued notices to both to file counters within two weeks.
Admitting the PIL, Chief Justice V Gopal Gowda and Justice B N Mohapatra issued notices to the state government and the Centre asking them to file the counters.
The state government however, maintained that the Act was enacted by the Centre and there was no financial assistance from the Union government for implementing certain of its provisions.
The PIL was filed by a social activist of Kalahandi district Sanjib Kumar Satapathy.
