Garbage collection PPPs should be on MCD website

Central Chronicle; Wednesday, December 01, 2010
New Delhi:The Central Information Commission has directed the Municipal Commissioner to place in public domain details of all private public partnership agreements on garbage collection.
The case relates to RTI query of a Vasant Kunj resident who claimed that Residents' Welfare Associations have not been taken into confidence before finally implementing PPP system of garbage removal from the houses.
"Now the representatives of a private agency are approaching the RWAs to take over the possession of functional and non functional bins without producing any authorisation," Rakesh Gaur said in his plea.
Gaur through his RTI application had sought to know complete details of the scheme and a certified copy of the term and conditions of the said system but did not get any reply from the MCD.
He approached the Central Information Commission which directed the MCD to provide all the information on the issue.
