Mangalore: Congress seeks info under RTI on Vidhana Soudha land

Mangalore, Nov 18, DHNS:
District Congress Committee General Secretary M G Hegde filed an RTI application seeking information as to whether Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa has denotified land around Vidhana Soudha, Vikasa Soudha, M S Building, High Court and Kumara Kripa Guest House in Bangalore.
Speaking with the media persons here on Thursday, Hegde said, “I have suspicion that the BJP government might have denotified land around these buildings to please their kin and party leaders. Let them disclose the total area of land that existed before BJP came to power and whether they have denotified land in the area.”
He said that he had filed the RTI application as a part of the protest against BJP government’s involvement in the land scam.

Hegde said that the Karnataka Industrial Area Development Board (KIADB) had acquired large area of land in Angaragundi near Baikampadi. “Government should provide information regarding the acquisition of land at Angaragundi. Let them disclose to whom sites were allotted,” he urged.
There were irregularities in the distribution of sites by the Mangalore Urban Development Authority (MUDA). They had allotted 79 sites, he said and urged the MUDA officials to reveal the details of the beneficiaries.
