Mumbai : Veteran social activist Anna Hazare, who has been instrumental in the framing of laws like the RTI Act by relentlessly pursuing the cause with the government, will meet eminent public figures and spiritual leaders in Delhi on Sunday to take his crusade against corruption forward. Hazare would meet yoga guru Baba Ramdev, spiritual leader Sri Sri Ravishankar, former IPS officer Kiran Bedi and others to initiate a national campaign.
Hazare said the idea was to create public awareness across the nation to put pressure on the government to amend laws to allow agencies like the CBI and the CVC to act against the corrupt freely and with full autonomy and make corruption punishable with life imprisonment.
Hazare said existing laws were not serving as a deterrent as they did not result in stringent action against the corrupt. He stressed the need for another 'freedom struggle' against corruption.
