Recognition for Akhil Gogoi

The Assam Tribune: Guwahati, Saturday, October 16, 2010
Young peasant leader Akhil Gogoi, who is also a popular RTI activist, is one of the recipients of the CNN-IBN Young Indian Leader Awards. The awards ceremony will be held on October 25 in New Delhi.
Akhil, presently the secretary of the Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti (KMSS), has been selected for the award for voicing against the rampant corruption in the State and making the people aware about the adverse impact of big dams.
It needs to be mentioned here that the award is an effort to identify, honour and showcase the young achievers from various fields of expertise who in turn can be a source of inspiration to the nation’s youth.
