MUMBAI: The government doesn't like its employees asking too many questions. The state medical education department headed by senior NCP leader Vijaykumar Gavit has abruptly shunted out an assistant librarian with the Pune-based government-run B J Medical College after he invoked the RTI Act to ask "inconvenient" questions of dean Arun Jamkar.
The MED made no attempt to hide its bizarre logic. When Kumar Dashrath Ghatule challenged his transfer in the Maharashtra administrative tribunal, the MED submitted that since he was frequently raising questions under the RTI, the dean had recommended his transfer out of Pune.
