Madras HC declines to give info on disposal of cases by judges

Madurai, Sep 8 (PTI)
The Madras High Court has declined to provide an applicant information under the RTI act on disposal of cases by individual judges since 2004. The reason given by the court was that it "involved high exercise and scrutiny of voluminous records running for years," court sources here said.
A communication to this effect had been sent to the applicant from Chennai to Madurai on August 4 by the Deputy Registrar (administration) of the principal seat, they said. The Madurai bench had provided to the same applicant, information on a similar issue running to 650 pages on payment of Rs 2500, the sources said.
