Stating
that dog has been the most trusted lieutenant of humans among the animal since
early ages, former IPS officer and RTI commissioner BV Ramana Kumar has noted
that it was the duty of the humans to pay equal respect to the kennel. He said
that relevance of friendship with dog has further increased in the recent past
as the people have started forming micro-families.
Dr
Ramana Kumar inaugurated the mega dog show organized by the Guntur Kennel Club
at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan here on Saturday. GCC president P Ramachandra Raju
presided over the session. Addressing the meeting Dr Ramana Kumar said the role
of dog in the police department too is significant as it plays crucial role in
catching the anti-social elements. “People are relieving from their daily
tensions by spending little time with pet animals. Dogs are biggest breed among
the pet animals,” said Dr Ramana Kumar. Ramachandra Raju said that they have
last organized the dog show about 15 years ago when there was little awareness
about the caring of pet animals. He said that they have decided to make the
show as annual feature from now onwards as the present edition has received an
overwhelming response from the people. He said that it was surprised to found
so many dog lovers in the city. He said that the show had also helped increase
awareness about the different breeds in the dogs.
Guntur
Kennel Club secretary SVS Lakshminarayana said that dog show was organized to
create more awareness about the pet caring. He said that availability of
readymade foods and several medicines for the pets has made the job of pet
lovers little bit easy. He, however, said that pet lovers should not confine to
giving good feed to the pets but take them to veterinary assistants at regular
intervals. He said that certain ailments could be detected only by the vets and
early screening would help them protect the animals. He said that dog is most
loving and trusted animal for the man in the world. Gayatri, Vinya Tejaswini,
Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan principal S Santha Rao and Pendurthi Sandeep were
present.
