A probe was initiated against Asraf Badar in Jamshedpur for his prescription of a condom to a woman, who had complained of stomach pain. The probe found him guilty and authorities ordered his removal.
In a shocking incident, a government doctor in Jharkhand allegedly prescribed a woman condom when she told him about her stomach pain. The incident was reported from Ghatshila sub-division hospital in East Singhbhum district of the state. The accused doctor has been identified as Asraf Badar, who is working on a contractual basis with the hospital.
According to a report, East Singhbhum civil surgeon has confirmed the expulsion of the doctor. Civil surgeon Dr Maheshwar Prasad said that a probe initiated against the doctor has found him guilty and he will soon get the sacking orders.
The matter pertains to July 23 this year when the woman visited the doctor at the hospital and complained of stomach pain. Badar then asked the woman to use condoms.
The prescription became public when the patient, a Class 4 employee, went to the local medicine shop. The issue also became viral on social media. Later, the matter was also raised in Jharkhand Assembly by Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) legislator Baharagora Kunal Sarangi.
