An
RTI (Right to Information) activist has alleged that the assistant professor
recruitment by MPPSC is another Vyapam in the making. He alleged that the MPPSC
(Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission) is not providing excel-sheet of
merit list of selected candidates in professors’ recruitment exam.
“For
any recruitment test a merit list is prepared first and then selections are
done according to the merit list. Has PSC prepared a merit list before
selecting candidates for the post of assistant professors?” asked RTI activist
DP Singh at a press conference. He added
that if it has prepared the merit list then why it is not making it
public. He said that as the list was not
made public by PSC therefore he had to use RTI Act to seek information.
He
alleged that PSC is not providing the selection list of candidates selected
under backlog quota. He also alleged
that the merit list of the backlog is also not being provided under RTI. The posts were notified by the higher
education department (HED) in three broad categories- first a backlog of 752
posts, second 1064 vacancies created against retirement and third 1606
vacancies against new sanctioned posts.
The
advertisement issued by the higher education department and later MPPSC was
amended about 18 times mostly whenever somebody pointed out at some discrepancy
in the advertisement. Singh said that he
had sought a subject wise and category wise information about the reserved posts
but HED could not provide the details.
Singh then approached the High Court which ordered the state government
to re-verify the backlog posts. However Singh alleged that MPPSC issued the
selection list without re-verification.
Moreover,
High Court has also instructed to follow the reservation rule which doesn’t
allow selection of more than 50% candidates under reserve category. Singh
alleged that PSC is not making the merit list public because it has thrown all
rules to the wind. He alleged that HC
has made it clear that SET certificate would not be considered valid but
selections have been made in this category.
He claimed that PSC has selected candidates who have done PhD from Bhoj
University which is not valid.
PSC
is trying to hide these glaring mistakes therefore it is not making the merit
list public. “I will not spare the PSC
and the higher education department for this recruitment scam, courts would
decide the matter,” said Singh, who has already filed a petition in the court.
