Irregularities in Wardha prabhag 8 council polls.

The Times of India:Friday, December 23, 2011.
WARDHA: While parties are making all-out efforts for election to the president's post scheduled on December 23, the thumping victory of Bahujan Samaj Party in prabhag 8 of Wardha municipal council where it bagged all the four seats has got entangled in controversy.
The defeated candidates of prabhag 8 have charged the election officers with involvement in bogus voting on the election date. These candidates have sent letters to the State Election Commission and guardian minister of the district. The issue came to light when an RTI was filed and the bunch of papers showed that voting was done on behalf of dead persons.
Addressing a press conference, Sharda Jhamare who was defeated, said that there was a lot of bogus voting. Several voters had already died but the Election Commission officers did not update the list. He claimed that at voting centres 8/9, 8/13, 8/12, 8/3, 8/6 and 8/1, the poll officials did not see the identity cards and allowed voting. On voting centre number 8/9, two voting lists were found, Jhamare said.
The candidates took objection to election and demand re-polling in prabhag 8 and action against polling officers.
